Welcome to Auction #103. Sorry for the
delay but real life has been in the way of fun stuff. We think you should
really enjoy this one as it is quite different. Many unusual and hard
to find items as well as many items that we have not had in a long time
await your searching eyes.

We start with Item #1 .
This could be listed as a mystery glass. The 6 1/4" glass appears
to be a test or concept glass for the 1976 or 1978 Star Trek sets issued
by Dr. Pepper. The glass features the name and the likeness of "Balock's
Alter-Ego". No other information is on the glass. It is the same
glass blank as the issued Star Trek sets. This will be one for your friends
to talk about. It seems every collector I know is always in search of
a McDonald's Manager's glass. Item #2 may be the one
you are looking for. It is the manager's glass introducing the McDonald's
four glass set for the 1984 Olympics featuring Sam the Olympic Eagle.
Items #3 and #4 are two from the Pepsi
sponsored set from Callahan's Restaurant. #3 - The Fried Pipers and #4
- The Pop Stars are guaranteed to make you smile. Bright, colorful and
happy, what more could you want in a glass.

Number 7, 8, 9 and 10
are from a set we have not had in a very long time. Each of these 5 9/16"
glasses is from the older Dennis the Menace series. Each features a different
Dennis cartoon. This set is extremely hard to find and complete. Here
is your start or maybe your finish as we have been told that two of these
are the very hardest to find.

Items #11, 12 & 13
are three from a set of four that most of us have heard about
but never seen. The Burger Chef Endangered Species set of four is well
known and fairly common. However most do not know that the same set was
issued with a Dunkin' Donuts logo instead of Burger Chef. This version
can truly be termed "rare". We offer three of them here. The
Giant Panda, the Orang-utan, and the Tiger. We have never had even one
of these before so do not let these truly rare ones get away.

Item #5 is a
Coca Cola test item. Its size, 7", and unusual filigree pattern should
make this a must for any Coca Cola collector. But add to that the fact
that there is a glass company sticker on the bottom is an added bonus.
Item #6 is also a test glass from Coca Cola and McDonald's.
The glass features a color variation of Carl Yastrzemski of the Red Sox.
However the glass has a clear back with no bio, no Coca Cola logo and
no McDonald's logo. Clear another space in your Topps collection.
Item #14 is a
Welch's Flintstones glass. Common you say? Well - not this one as no pictures
are on the glass. A blank glass with an embossed Pebbles on the base.
Item #15 comes from Taco Time restaurants and Pepsi.
The Taco Time logo appears three times around the glass with maybe the
smallest Pepsi Cola logo ever seen on a glass. On the base of the glass
is a company sticker dated 2/25/83. This would indicate a salesman sample
or test glass.

Item #17 consists
of two Pepsi sponsored Michael Jackson plastic tumblers. One has signatures
on reverse. Not common.

Item #16 is one
not in the book with a Pepsi logo but this P.A.T. Ward, Dudley Do-Right
"hat tipper" glass has one. Not common.
Items #18 and #19
are two more very interesting and hard to find Pepsi glasses from South
America. Each features different scenes from the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
Tough to find.
Item #20 is one
of the neatest MEASURING GLASSES we have ever had. From
Chas Brown & Sons from San Francisco, done in red and gold it features
a miner panning for gold. If you have a measuring glass collection, clear
a space for this one.

I will be the first to admit I
know nothing of the "Hello Kitty" cartoon; however, ask any
kid and they can tell you all about it. Items #21 through #30
are all different "Hello Kitty" glasses from Spain.
Each has its cover intact featuring the nocilla embossed name - the Spanish
Nutella. Items #21 and 22 are a set of two 4 1/2" glasses while #23
through #30 is a set of eight, 3 5/8" glasses. Colorful, unusual
and sure to please the kid in you or at least the kid in your family.

Usually after an Olympics we see
a flood of Coca Cola glasses featuring the Olympic logo and/or story.
This year virtually nothing! Because we had a collector actually at the
Olympics we came up with two from the "company store". Item
#184 is a large 6 1/2" ceramic bell. Colorful Vancouver
2010 Olympic logo, large Coca Cola bottle logo and city skyline around
the base. All combine to make this a unique and beautiful glass to brighten
any collection . Item #185 is a heavy 6 1/2" glass
bell, also from the company store. Olympic 2010 logo, Coca Cola logo,
and art work combine to form another attractive glass. Item #186
is from Libby Glass and also features Olympic name, logo and
mountain scene art work. Very colorful. Items #89 and
#95 are just two more of the many Coca Cola glasses
in this auction.
As you peruse this auction book
you will have a lot to look at. Many Coca Cola, many Pepsi Cola, many
sets and singles we have not had recently should give you a lot to look
at. In Brent's new issues article you will see a number of new glasses
that are scattered throughout the auction.
Now for some housekeeping. We again
will not have a summer auction so I expect Brent will be putting together
another fine sales list issue so get your lists ready.
Anyone purchasing items in this
auction (#103) can pick them up at the PGCA annual meeting in Columbus
in May and save a bit on shipping.
Here are just a few more to whet
your appetite.

Have a great time. The auction
will end at 11 p.m. CDT on Saturday, May 8, unless you are still actively
bidding, in which case we will continue until we haven't had a bid for
20 minutes -- even if you want to continue all night!
Remember that you may bid anytime
at www.glassnertauction.com , email bids to glassnert@bellsouth.net
, or call 901.794.8723 or 901.219.9855. Come join the fun. Carl and
